if a category is set to ON but everything within that cat is OFF, is there any reason to keep the main cat set as ON (ex: Filters > Annoyances & Security & Language & Custom)?.am wondering if i should turn any of the ones that are off, on or not (for average use). it's a mystery to me what most all these actually mean & do so if anyone has any knowledge/experience with them, please share.and i REALLY miss having ads be blocked in other apps besides just Safari, but i understand that's an Apple constraint.īut anyway, here are some specific questions i have: i wish it was more streamlined & in lay-person's lingo & descriptive. Having SO many unknown options is pretty overwhelming. i don't understand what most any of it means, so it's probably fine as-is. i'm wondering if any of it should be tweaked or not. i've installed the regular iOS app (not the "pro" version as advised by tek support) on both iPhone & iPad.īelow is a complete list of all the DEFAULT settings. That also may seem like more of a hassle for you if you’re looking for more of a user-friendly solution, in which case the app/subscription options are your best bet.I have the Family Lifetime License of AdGuard. The only drawback there being it wouldn’t work when on mobile data, and you don’t get some of the app benefits like creating custom block lists or monitoring dns traffic, if you care about any of that. (You can even do it at the Wi-Fi router level if you want, and it will apply to every device on your network). I also do recommend trying the other commenters recommendation of changing your Wi-Fi dns settings, because you can set it to AdGuard’s dns servers and achieve virtually the same goal for free, and it can be done on pretty much any piece of technology you own. If i just had the pro iOS app, I wouldn’t be able to do that.

For example I have the subscription, and because of that I can use AdGuard on both my iPhone and my windows laptop. The differences come in with the fact that the subscription is recurring payments, but it enables you to gain other benefits like multiple device use depending on your plan. You can buy the pro app and use it the exact same way (as far as I’m aware at least) as the free app (assuming you get the subscription with the free app).

This is an official subreddit for AdGuard - ad blocker and online privacy protection tool for various platforms: Windows, Android, Mac, iOS.
